Pierce O’Leary enters 2024 with a new training team behind him.

The unbeaten super lightweight has left Alan Smith’s iBox Gym in Bromley and will move a few hundred miles north to join Joe McNally’s ever expanding stable at the Rotunda Gym in Liverpool.

O’Leary (13-0, 7 KO’s) seemed to be making good progress under Smith. A noted puncher known as ‘The Big Bang’, the Dubliner has slowly refined his naturally aggressive style and has made three successful defenses of his WBC International title. Nonetheless, the 23 year old has decided on a change of scenery and will hope that McNally can help him fulfil his clear potential.

O’Leary's most recent appearance came in September when he outpointed the decent Kane Gardner over ten rounds.

O’Leary took to Instagram to announce the move.

“I’m very pleased to announce that I have now teamed up with @jmcbxing @decorourke & @pinkmallet which I will now be based in Liverpool,” he posted.

“I want to thank Al Smith, @eddie_lam71 @paultaylor-7796 for the effort and time over the years.

“I am going into the new year in a excellent position with a solid team around me. 2024 is my year.”

McNally’s gym has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years and O’Leary joins the likes of Josh Taylor, Liam Smith, Caomhin Agyarko and Gary Cully in Liverpool.
