Anthony Sims Jr. opened his new contract with Matchroom with a fourth round stoppage win against Stanislav Eschner (10-10-1, 6 KOs) to extend his unbeaten professional record to 15 wins at the Ice Arena in Cardiff, Wales. (photos by Lawrence Lustig).

The opening round was tentative from the 23-year-old light-heavyweight as he poked out his jab and launched an occasional attack to the body.

Sims Jr. revved up the action in the second as he caught Eschner with a bruising cross right hand before the 29-year-old Czech crumbled under pressure from a barrage against the ropes and took a knee for an eight count.

Floyd Mayweather’s cousin continued to dictate the pace in the third and in the fourth, he found his opening for victory with a left hook that wobbled Eschner, forcing him to cover up in the corner.

However, after solid right on the chin, referee Martin Williams stopped the contest at 1:13 in the round.

Daniyar Yeleussinov continued his flawless campaign in the professional ranks with another win.

The Kazakh Olympic champion was relatively dominant against Gabor Gorbics, scoring a points verdict over the Hungarian, who is the Hungarian and Slovakian welterweight champion.

Yeleussinov moved to 3-0 at the Ice Arena in Cardiff, Wales, exclusively live on Sky Sports, after outpointing the former WBO European super-welterweight title challenger by a margin of 60 points to 54, as part of the supporting cast to Joe Cordina’s defence of the WBA International lightweight title against Sean Dodd as the pair contest the vacant Commonwealth crown.

And after the John David Jackson-trained welterweight, who was cut in the fifth of six rounds, added another win to his ledger, his promoter Eddie Hearn revealed the plan for the coming months.

Hearn went on to divulge that Yeleussinov will be stepped up in level when he returns to the ring in the United States on a card in October.

As part of the Matchroom Boxing USA deal, Hearn has a card on the DAZN platform on October 6 in Chicago, topped by Callum Johnson’s IBF light-heavyweight title challenge against Artur Beterbiev, and one on October 20 in California which is headed by Gavin McDonnell in a challenge for Daniel Roman’s WBA super-bantamweight title.
