CAGUAS, P.R. - Former world champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. confirmed that his confidence is back when he captured the WBC’s vacant USNBC featherweight title winning a a majority decision over Jonathan Arellano in a 8 round fight at the Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum in Caguas. The fight started with both fighters trying to establish their rhythm and Vazquez was having the better shots. Early in the second round Vazquez Jr. was caught with a solid left hook from Arellano that shook him.

Wilfredo followed his dad/trainer's instructions and did the correct adjustments to overcome the bad moments and convince the judges to capture the win.

“I feel very happy to get the win tonight. I am very grateful of everybody for this opportunity. I worked really hard with my dad in the gym and we got the victory. I wanted to impress and get an early win but did not happen how I wanted. Just want to make it clear I am ready for any 126 pounder out there. I just want to get a world champion opportunity again I will be a world champion," Vazquez Jr. said.

Super featherweight unbeaten prospect Alberto ‘El Explosivo’ Machado (9-0, 7KO’s) annihilated Alvin Torres with an explosive right hook to earn the vacant USNBC Featherweight title.

“I am very happy with this victory and the opportunity that my company is giving me. I said I was ready and all you guys saw the results’, Machado said.

In other results Jose ‘Chiquiro’ Martinez got his 9th knockout to earn his 13 victories when his stopped Luis Cosme in round 1. Freddy Ortiz remains unbeaten when he got his 3rd victory by knockout when he stopped Jonathan Feliciano. Ricardo ‘Richy’ Rodriguez got his first pro win when he stopped Luis Soto in the 1st round. Junny Troche also won by KO when he finished Michael Wicker in round 2. Julian Rodriguez scored a spectacular KO win over Jorge Cordero on the second round. Clarence Booth won a 6 round unanimous decision over Javier Garcia and Bryan Chevalier stopped Antonio Vera in the very first round.
