Janiel Rivera and Israel Vazquez made weight for their upcoming 12-round strawweight clash Saturday evening in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Rivera tipped the scales at 104.4 lbs., while Vazquez weighed a trim and ready 104 lbs. The bout headlines live on Univision Puerto Rico as part of the network’s Boxeo Al Maximo series.

The winner will be in line to face unbeaten strawweight titlist Wanheng Menayothin.

A three-fight unbeaten streak precedes Saturday's fight for Rivera (12-2-3, 7KOs), who is functionally one fight away from his second crack at a major title. The 23-year old strawweight from Catano came up short in his bid for a 108 lb. belt versus then-champion Adrian Hernandez last February.

Saturday will mark his first fight in Puerto Rico since Nov. '13; the fight with Hernandez took place on the road in Mexico, before picking up a pair of wins in Dominican Republic and most recently fighting to a draw with Felipe Rivas last November in Texas.

Vazquez (9-2-2, 6KOs) has dropped his last two starts, including a razor-thin six-round decision to Charlie Clemente this past February in the inaugural edition of Boxeo Al Maximo . The 28-year old is the younger brother of former 122 lb. titlist Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. and the son of former three-division champion Wilfredo Vazquez Sr.
