Photos: Vences-Ramos, Saucedo-Serrano Ready For UniMas Fights

Vences (16-0, 10 KOs) of San Jose, California and Ramos (23-0, 6 KOs) of Austin, Texas will battle for the WBC Continental Americas Super Featherweight title in a fight that will be telecast nationally by Unimas during their popular show Solo Boxeo.

“It’s the biggest fight of my career and is a great opportunity for me to show my talent. I know a win on November 4 will open a lot of doors for me,” said Vences.

Vences, who is 2-0 this year, will be looking for his third victory in 2016. He is very popular in northern California because of his aggressive style and “Never say die” attitude in the ring.

“There comes a time in a boxer’s career when he must step up and this is my time to do it. I know Ramos is an experienced guy with boxing skills, but I believe that I am ready for him. It’s my time to shine and prove myself to the boxing world,” said Vences.

Looking to be in the best shape possible for what will surely be a grinding battle, Vences is in southern California this week to work and spar with featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez in the Rock Gym in Carson, California.

“I know this fight against Ramos is very important and I need to have a great camp and great sparring, and Valdez and his team have allowed us to come down and work with the champ. He (Valdez) has what I want: A championship. My fight is a big step toward that goal,” said Vences who is in Carson with his trainer, Gabe Flores Sr.

Vences has gone the distance twice this year and it has been a learning experience for the young boxer, who had a stellar amateur career and won eight previous fights before the final bell.

“I know that you can’t knock everyone out, but I want to give the fans a great fight and I know that they want to see knockouts. I have gone the distance my last two fights and have felt great from start to finish. I will be ready to win the fight by knockout or decision,” said Vences.
