Former world champion Wilfredo "Papito" Vazquez Jr., continued his preparation for his next appointment in the ring on June 7th at Madison Square Garden in New York when he faces Filipino Marvin Sonsona in a rematch.

Vazquez Jr. moved his camp to the legendary Romanza Gym in Mexico City, where he is focused on being a world champion again.

"Papito" is training under the tutelage of conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Herredia, who works with former world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, Jean Pascal and others. Puerto Rican coach Alfonso Uri Ramos also came to Mexico with Vazquez Jr.

Sonsona and Vazquez met for the first time on February 27, 2010. Vazquez knocked out Sonsona in the fourth round to claim the vacant WBO super bantamweight title.

The rematch will be contested for the NABF featherweight title (North America Boxing Federation), which is affiliated with the World Boxing Council (WBC).
