Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas - A world championship fight with the backing of a former world champion, and the opening of the modern Metropolitan Arena, is set to happen on Saturday night, as Zanfer promotes the card which is going to be nationally broadcast by Azteca.

In the main event, Tomas "Gusano" Rojas (35-12-1, 23 KOs) will make the second defense of his super flyweight championship of the World Council Council, against the mandatory challenger Juan José "Goofy" Montes (19-1, 15 KOs). Most are predicting a war with their clash of styles.

At the legendary Canyon Sump, the official weigh-in ceremony was held and the scale was no obstacle for the world champion or the challenger. Both the world champion Tomas Rojas, and the challenger Juan José Montes, made the division limit with weights of 114.8 and 115-pounds respectively.

"I feel great, I got on the scale without any sacrifice and tomorrow I'm coming in strong. I do not think Goofy can sustain the pace and I'm going to win by knockout or decision, but I clearly recognize that he is a dangerous challenger," said Rojas, who belongs to promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer.

"I want to thank my promoter and the promoters of this event, and the Government of the State of Chiapas, to realize my dream of fighting for a world championship against a great champion. Now everything depends on me and getting into the ring to give everything of myself and I assure them that I'm going to leave the ring as champion," said Montes, who is represented by Hector Garcia of HG Boxing.

In the co-feature, former world champion, Alberto "Topo" Rosas (33-6-0, 26 KOs) will face the experienced Colombian John Alberto Molina (28-16-3, 19 ko's) and similarly, both had no issues making weight and square off over ten rounds at bantamweight.

Also, Felipe Orucuta (19-1-0, 15 KOs) will have a tough test against the experienced David Roque Ler Julio (30-8-0, 18 KOs) over 10 rounds at bantamweight.
