Tepparith Kokietgym is working hard at the Katsymata Gym in Tokyo, as he prepares to defend his WBA world super flyweight title. Kokietgym (19-2, 12KOs) will take part in a unification fight with the "champion in recess" Tomonobu Shimizu (19-3-1, 9KOs) on April 4th in Yokohama.

Kokietgym got his first world title from former interim-champion Drian Fransisco of Phillipines with a points win on May 1st, 2011. Later, Tepparith won his first defense of the interim-belt when he faced Daiki Kameda in Japan on December 7th.

Shimizu had beaten Hugo Cazares of Mexico on August 31st in Japan. But Shimizu got injured in the fight and took rest of the year off. During his rest, the WBA made Shimizu the "champion in recess" and made Tepparith the regular champion.

Tepparith boasted - “I will knock out Shimizu within six rounds. I'm not afraid of being outboxed and it won't be hard for my punches to catch him."

The fight will broadcasted by TBS Channel 6 nationwide in Japan.
