Erik Skoglund (17-0, 9 KOs) has arrived in Kolding. Three days ahead of the biggest fight of his career, the unbeaten 22-year-old Swede worked out in front of the media and fans at Kolding Storecenter. On Saturday night, he will face Danish veteran Lolenga Mock (31-13-1, 12 KOs) for the European Union Light Heavyweight Title. “I am ready,” Skoglund said. “I have watched a lot of tapes of Mock. He has been on my mind for a very long time. I know what I have to do on Saturday.”

Skoglund´s coach Karsten Roewer expects a tough fight. “We know Mock very well,” he said. “He moved forward a lot and throws a lot of punches. Erik has to find a way to cope with the pressure Mock puts on him, but we have trained for that. Erik has done some very good sparring, he is in brilliant shape. He has developed very well and he is certainly ready for this fight. It will be difficult, but for me Erik is the favourite.”

Roewer revealed he got some special insight from current EBU Light Heavyweight and former WBO Light Heavyweight World Champion Juergen Braehmer, who is also part of Rower´s training group in Berlin. “Juergen used to do sparring with Lolenga, so he could tell us some interesting stuff,” Roewer said. “Maybe Juergen will travel up and support Erik ringside.”

Nisse Sauerland: “Skoglund versus Mock, that´s youth versus experience, an up-and-coming youngster against a proven veteran. This fight will tell us where Erik is headed. We have high hopes in him, and winning the European Union Light Heavyweight Title at the age of 22 would be huge… for him, the Nordic Fight Night and Swedish boxing in general.”
