In the main event, fighting in his first fight as a cruiserweight and coming off a 31-month layoff, Kovalev, (35-4-1, 29 KOs), won a dominant ten-round unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Tervel Pulev, (16-1, 13 KOs). Scores were 98-92 twice and 97-93.
In the co-featured heavyweight bout, the brother of Tervel, Kubrat ‘The Cobra’ Pulev, (29-2, 14 KOs), also won a dominant unanimous decision over southpaw Jerry ‘The Slugger’ Forrest, (26-5-2, 20 KOs). Scores were 98-92 and 99-91, twice.
In a huge upset fighting in the super welterweight division, Jurmain McDonald, (7-5, 3 KOs), stopped Evan ‘Yung Holy’ Holyfield, (9-1, 6 KOs) in the second round (1:56). A huge right hand to the jaw would drop the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield as referee Raul Caiz Jr. called a halt to the fight as the count reached eight.
