The WBO's world boxing champion at 130-pounds Roman "Rocky" Martinez, received a training camp visit from the Philippine world champion at 115 pounds Nonito Donaire Jr. on Wednesday at the Sports Complex Gym in Puerto Rico. Donaire took advantage of his stay on the island after participating in the event called "The Challenge" by visiting Martinez who he has been following for some time.

"For me it's a real honor to meet a Puerto Rican champion like Rocky, especially because he is a great fighter and an excellent person," said Donaire. "I'm leaving with good memories of Puerto Rico where I defended my title successfully and met Rocky," said Donaire. Donaire is recognized by the general public and boxing as the next iconic figure in the Filipino boxing after the international superstar Manny Pacquiao retires.

Martinez was excited throughout the duration of the visit. "It is my honor to welcome a champion like Nonito to my gym and receive advice on strategies to implement in my next fight," Martinez said.

Roman "Rocky" Martinez will face Scottish boxer Ricky Burns on September 4 at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, Scotland. Martinez hopes that this fight will open the door to a possible unification fight against Jorge Solis.
