Future foes go head to head? A few days ago, the president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaiman, who is in Managua, Nicaragua to participate in the festivities to remember the former world champion Alexis Arguello, did not rule out a possible fight between WBC flyweight world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (43-0, 37KOs) of Nicaragua and WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras (32-0-1, 25KOs) of Mexico.

Caudras came with Sulaiman to the festivities and went face to face with Gonzalez before the local press - and former two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga looking on.

Both of the boxers are expected to defend their titles in the coming months. Cuadras will defend his belt on August 8th against an opponent to be determined. The return date for Gonzalez is unknown with opponents like Giovanni Segura being mentioned among the candidates to face him.

"It's a natural fight, though they are partners and friends and belong to the same company, Teiken Promotions - but at some point they may come together and therefore it would be a fight to remember," Sulaiman said.
