Former three-time world champion Erik "Terrible" Morales, began carrying out a strong training camp for his bout on September 11 at Plaza Mexico, where he will go against Scotland's Willie Limond. The second stage of the camp was announced by his father and coach, Jose "olive grove" Morales, who said his son will arrive in perfect condition on the day of their battle.

“Today we started sparring five rounds with two guys that are helping us, here at the Otomi Ceremonial Center. As the days go past, we will increase the rounds," he explained.

Erik Morales's father indicated that a lot of attention has been focused on the boxing repertoire of his offspring.

"The training carried out in the gym has been very strong. We place great emphasis on each hit he makes, either, with the bag, open mitts, etc."

Erik "Terrible" Morales, who has conquered the WBC world championships in bantamweight, junior featherweight and super featherweight, has studied videos of his Scottish rival Willie Limond.

"He was watching a video of Willie Limond in a fight against Amir Khan (WBA world lightweight champion) where he lost. He is a young fighter with a good record. Erik has been saying it all along, he wants to face the best. "

"He's an opponent who has a history in the Olympics. He has a name in Europe and only lost twice. Therefore, it will be a very good fight between my son Erik and the Scott.  We will see real boxing," he said.

"We have the exact time to make weight. We're right on target, training hard and quiet in that regard."

On the other hand, in the latest world rankings of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA), "El Terrible" has been placed in positions two and six, respectively, in the welterweight division.
