Caracas - Former world champion Lorenzo "Lencho" Parra traveled to Panama, along with his team, ready to fight for the WBA bantamweight championship, which is currently held by Panamanian star Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno. The fight happens on Friday June 17 at the Arena Roberto Duran.

"Many months of training, and working hard," he said before boarding the plane bound for the Isthmus with his coach Enrique Centeno, and his manager Francisco Da Silva.

Similarly, Johan Perez confessed said that he is eager to step into the ring and challenge the Panamanian Alberto Mosquera, winning the fight at 140-pounds by knockout.

"We're fine, and determined to win. We did a good job of preparing so we're just go into the ring and fight, "he said with his father and coach, Lino Perez and his manager Rafael Morón.

On that same card, the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin will defend his "regular" WBA middleweight title against Uganda's Kassim Ouma. Venezuela will have more representatives when Charlie Navarro enters the ring with the Cuban Reward Marti. For their part, Panama will have former champion Vicente Mosquera, Irving Berry, Jorge Sanchez, Joel White, and Luis Pineda on the bill.
