Russia - Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. was greeting by some seasoned observers during his time in Moscow, WBA cruiserweight champon Denis Lebedev and former WBO 140-pound champion Ruslan Provodnikov.

Yesterday in Moscow, Mayweather took part in the boxing event which was organized by Academy of Boxing in association with Russian Timber Group and State Corporation Rostec.  A local concert hall was turned into a platform for an open training session and master class by the undefeated retired fighter.

The event broke a Guinness World Record for the amount of people who took part in the massive boxing lesson. It was attended by 791 people and more about 3,000 spectators were present on the podium.

The new record was noted down by Sofia Greenacre, an official judge from the Guinness World Records. She handed Mayweather the certificate.

The previous record, set in 2014 in London, had 508 participants.

"I want to thank everyone who came today. My career has been an adventure, and if wasn't for your faith and support, I would not have been able to achieve everything that's been achieved. I respect my fans around the world, and in Russia we have some time to lift boxing to a new level. If you believe that, then I believe. Everyone who is here today is part of history, and we are all making history," Mayweather said.

Mayweather's open workout lasted more than 30 minutes (one of the main requirements for setting the record) and supervised by 30 volunteers and an independent referee.

The CEO of Rostec and President of the Academy of Boxing, Sergey Chemezov, gave Mayweather a special award before the workout and a brand new Eastern European car.
