Belfast, Ireland - For the IBF featherweight title, Luis Alberto Lopez (28-2, 16 KOs) blasted out Michael Conlan (18-2, 9 KOs) in the fifth round.
They started fast in the first, with both boxers throwing a lot of fast punches to the head and body. Conlan was sharper, with Lopez being a little wild at times. They exchanged big shots during the second and the fast pace continued. Conlan was still sharper, with Lopez having his moments as well.
Both had their moments during exchanges in the third. Conlan was rocked by hard punches and then Lopez was unloading with heavy blows. Conlan was forced to weather the storm. A close fourth with Lopez doing more damage with his punches.
During the fifth, Lopez landed a big uppercut that sent Conlan down and out. The towel flew in as Conlan was very hurt.
