LAS VEGAS – Vasyl Lomachenko and Nicholas Walters both made weight Friday afternoon for their 130-pound title fight Saturday night at The Cosmopolitan.

Ukraine’s Lomachenko (6-1, 4 KOs) weighed in at 130 pounds for his first defense of the WBO world super featherweight title he won from Rocky Martinez five months ago in New York. Jamaica’s Walters (26-0-1, 21 KOs) weighed in at 129½ pounds, the same amount he weighed before his last fight, a majority draw with Jason Sosa 11 months ago in Verona, N.Y.

The telecast is set to start at 10:35 p.m. ET with a replay of the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev light heavyweight title fight. Ward (31-0, 15 KOs), of Hayward, California, dealt the hard-hitting Kovalev his first professional defeat Saturday night in an HBO Pay-Per-View main event at T-Mobile Arena.

Ward won by the same score, 114-113, on all three scorecards in a very competitive, physical fight in which Ward overcame a second-round knockdown to remain unbeaten. The decision caused considerable controversy, but Ward owes Russia’s Kovalev (30-1-1, 26 KOs) an immediate rematch in accordance with contracts they signed last year.
