O2 Arena, London - In the finale of the World Boxing Super Series junior welterweight tournament, a grueling battle broke with Josh Taylor (16-0, 12 KOs) winning a twelve round majority decision over previously undefeated Regis Prograis (24-1, 20 KOs) to unify the WBA, IBF world titles. The scores were 114-114, 115-113 and 117-112. (photos by Mark Robinson)

A very cautious start by both men in the first. Prograis was mostly going to the body as Taylor was working the jab and looking for head shots. Prograis started the second by digging to the body. They mostly fought on the inside with both having their moments. In the third, Prograis was controlling the action with his body shots and jabs and defensive movements.

A close fourth with Prograis landing the harder of the shots. Taylor appeared to edge the fifth with a late rally of shots. Taylor continued to rally with quick combinations and looking to outwork Prograis.

Taylor was looking to brawl with Prograis at the start of the seventh. Prograis' nose was bleeding and he was pawing at it. Prograis was able to battle back in the eight, with his jab and a very big left hand that Taylor took well. Prograis started very well in the ninth, but Taylor finished strong with hard shots. The right eye of Taylor was badly swollen.

A cut opened around Prograis' right eye in the tenth. Taylor was forcing the action and landing hard shots. A cut opened up around the right eye of Taylor in the eleventh as both boxers had their moments.

Prograis was landing the better punches on the inside in the twelfth and final round. There were heavy punches landing for Prograis, but Taylor was willing to stand and trade when needed.
