In a tense weigh-in ceremony, Daniel "Galeno" Sandoval had to work very hard to comply with the contract weight for Saturday's showdown with Jorge "Maromerito" Paez, who made the weight limit without problems. Both of them traded words and promised knockout victories.

"Maromerito" Paez (39-9-2, 23 KOs) vs. "Galeno" Sandoval (39-4, 36 KOs) has been agreed upon to take place over the ten round distance at super welterweight at the Municipal Gymnasium of Palenque, Chiapas and Box Azteca will televised the card. The event will be promoted by Zanfer Promotions.

Sandoval made the agreed-upon weight in his second attempt, after being overweight on the first attempt and then coming back after two hours and making fulfilled the weight.

"The official scale was badly calibrated. I want to remove Jorge Páez, I'm going to knock him out," said Sandoval.

"I fulfilled my weight and Sandoval had to do it, he wanted to get over, but everything was fine as professionals. Tomorrow I will not keep anything professional. I come in there with everything and if he says he's going to knock me out then I'll be waiting for him and he will be one to get knocked out," Paez said.

Former world title contender Daniel ¨Bad Boy¨ Roses (20-3-1) will face Willmank Canonico (9-1-2, 1 KOs) over eight rounds in a featherweight contest. Adrian Curiel (5-0, 1 KOs) faces Chiapas Otoniel López (3-1-1, 1 KOs) in the flyweight division over six rounds.
