Photos: Joe Cusumano Drops, Batters Adam Kownacki For Stoppage Win in War

In the first round, Cusumano rocked Kownacki in the first round and had him in trouble. A hard shot at the end of the round sent him down hard. In the second, Kownacki was getting battered with hard punches at the start, but began to make his comeback with heavy blows as the round played out to get Cusumano in trouble.

They were trading big punches in the third. Both were connecting well with heavy blows. The nose and mouth of Cusumano was bleeding, while the face of Kownacki was already bruised up. It was back and forth punching in the fourth round, with Cusumano doing better as the round played out.

During the fifth, Kowancki was able to outland Cusumano, but it was very close. In the sixth, Cusuamno was landing the better punches as Kownacki seemed to be winded. During the seventh, Kownacki was getting battered and appeared to be on the verge of getting stopped - but he survived and then began to rally with punches in the final minute. Kownacki seemed very tired and hurt at the end of the round.

In the eight, both were tried and really taking their time with punches. But then a huge right hand by Cusumano hurt Kownacki badly, with several more punches forcing the towel to come in.
