Jhonny Gonzalez, the current featherweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and his challenger Jorge "Travieso" Arce, were declared fit to star in one of the most anticipated battles of the year, by completing their mandated seven day weighin. The fight takes place next Saturday, October 4th, at the Multipurpose Center of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico. The event will be televised by Televisa Deportes.

Under the regulations, under the WBC, Jhonny Gonzalez and Jorge Arce had to make a weight not exceeding 5% of the featherweight division (126 pounds). Gonzalez, who weighed in at the Romanza Gym (east of Mexico City), recorded a weight of 58,800 (129.6-pounds), and Arce was 58,600 kilograms (129.1-pounds).
