Photos: Jarrell Miller Stops Wach, Cletus Seldin Crushes Ortiz

Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, New York - Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, New York - In a heavyweight showdown, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (20-0, 18 KOs) from Brooklyn stopped Poland’s Mariusz Wach (33-3, 17 KOs) in the ninth round.

The contest started off as a battle of jabs. The fight was close in the first round, but Miller landed the heavier blows. In the second, Miller was going to the body and began to catch the jab of Wach. Near the end of the second, Miller really let his hands go and was starting to tag Wach, who was throwing back with counters of his own.

Miller was plodding forward in the third, digging to Wach's body. The Polish fighter was looking to land a hard right hand to the head and working his long jab. Miller continued to outwork and outland Wach in the fourth round. In the final minute, Wach let his hands go and landed a few punches but they had little to no effect.

Wach was trying his best in the fifth, but none of his punches were doing any damage on Miller, who kept on coming. Wach and Miller traded punches at the end of the round, with the quicker Miller getting to the target first.

Before the start of the sixth round, Wach complained that he hurt one of his hands, but never revealed which one. Wach was throwing both hands during the sixth and it was apparent which hand was bothering him. Miller continued to control the fight with his workrate.

In the seventh, it appeared that Wach was stunned and Miller began to work him over with shots to the head and body. Wach was not throwing his right hand, which indicated that it might be the injured one. Miller was now punishing him with punches from both hands and landed a punch right on Wach's injured right hand, which appeared to really hurt him.

Wach was barely doing anything in the eight until the final minute, as Miller's workrate was slowing down as well. The fight was finally stopped in the ninth round, as Wach was barely fighting anymore and getting hit too much. The ringside doctor signaled to the referee to stop the fight during the ninth round action.

Junior welterweight banger Cletus Seldin (21-0, 17KOs) beat down Roberto Ortiz (35-2-2, 26KOs) for a third round stoppage.

Right off the bat in the first thirty seconds, Seldin landed a huge right hand that sent Ortiz down to the mat and he got up in a lot of trouble. He was holding and trying to survive for his life, as Seldin was looking to finish him off.

In the second minute of the first, another series of punches put Ortiz down to his knees. Ortiz managed to survive until the first bell.

Ortiz sustained a cut above his left eye in the second round from another right hand. There was a lot of blood streaming down Ortiz's face, and Seldin continued to punish him with punches. Once again Ortiz managed to survive the round.

The cut above Ortiz's eye became even worse in the third as he took more punches. There was blood all over Ortiz's face. The referee called time, took Ortiz to the ringside doctor and the fight was stopped. Because the cut was caused by a punch, it was a TKO win for Seldin.
