Photos: Jaime Munguia Decks John Ryder Four Times, Stops Him in Nine

In the first round, the action started slow and saw both picking their spots. Munguia was connecting better. The second saw more inside fighting between the two. A combination by Munguia sent Ryder down to the mat. Munguia went for the finish, but was getting clipped by Ryder's counters. Munguia rallied with more punches near the end of the round.

During the third, Ryder was countering well but the punches were not doing much of anything to Munguia. Munguia was pressing and forcing Ryrder to be on the move at times. They came out trading in the fourth. Munguia was aggressive and forcing the action. A give and take round with both having their moments. Near the end of the round, Munguia scored a flash knockdown. 

Munguia came out firing in the fifth and was looking for a fire fight. Ryder was connecting flush, but it was Munguia's punches doing the damage. The sixth saw some better boxing from Ryder, which also slowed the action down a bit.  During the seventh, both had spells of success. Ryder was connecting with plenty counters, but Munguia was able to take them.   

The eight saw Munguia up the tempo and really pick up the pace as he took the fight to Ryder. He was unloading with punches on Ryder and had him in some trouble, Ryder was able to land a big right hand that backed Munguia off and slowed the action down, with Ryder coming on with punches. In the ninth, Munguia landed a big overhand right to send Ryder down for a third time. Munguia jumped on Ryder and sent him down for a fourth time.  Ryder was getting battered with punches and the fight was waved off by Ryder's corner.
