King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah - Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury (23-2, 13 KOs) stopped a very faded former WBC world champion Sam Peter (38-8, 31 KOs) in the seventh round.

This was the second win for Fury since losing a twelve round unanimous decision to Kubrat Pulev.

Peter, 38-years-old, resumed his career back in February. He had retired in December 2016 after getting demolished by Pulev in three rounds. Two fights ago, Peter was upset over eight rounds by Mario Heredia by way of a split decision.

Peter was swinging for the hills when the contest began. Fury was using his movement to frustrate Peter. IN the fourth round, Peter was deducted a point for numerous fouls as the Nigerian veteran was very frustrated.

In the fifth, Peter was in danger of being disqualified after landing numerous punches that were either low or to the back of Fury's head. It was a rough fight to watch, with Fury doing a lot of holding and Peter swinging like a wild fighter.

In the seventh round, during an inside exchange there appeared to be a shoulder injury suffered by Peter - or so he claimed. During the replays, it was hard to find the exact moment where Peter injured the left shoulder. There was timed called for a while before the referee finally waved off the fight as Peter said he was unable to continue.
