Madison Square Garden, New York City - Former unified middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs) came back in force with a fourth round knockout of previously undefeated Steve Rolls (19-1, 10 KOs). (Photos by Amanda Westcott).

This was Golovkin's first bout since losing a twelve round majority decision to Canelo Alvarez back in September of last year. And this was also Golovkin's first bout with new trainer Johnathon Banks, after parting ways with longtime coach Abel Sanchez.

And the contest was the first of a six fight deal between GGG and streaming service DAZN.

Golovkin came out jabbing, and doing most of the work in a very slow round. Golovkin was taking his time in the second, tapping to the body and hooking well. Rolls was able to land a series of good shots, but Golovkin fired with a hard combination, and then Rolls came back with more hard shots as they were trading at mid-range.

A solid third for both, with Golovkin landing the harder punches. In the fourth, Golovkin rocked Rolls with a left hand, pressed him against the ropes and then blasted him with a big hook that sent the Canadian fighter down for the count.
