Gennady Golovkin attempts the 14th defense of his middleweight belt as he faces slick southpaw Willie Monroe Jr. The scheduled 12-round bout headlines live on HBO from The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Golovkin came in at 159 lbs., the norm throughout his lengthy title reign, with all of his title fights having ended inside the distance; Monroe weighed a finely sculpted 160 lbs. for his first shot at a major title.

The televised co-feature showcases World flyweight Róman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez in his HBO-televised debut. Regarded as one of the best fighters in any weight class, Gonzalez attempts the second defense of his flyweight crown versus former 108 lb. titlist Edgar Sosa.

Gonzalez tipped the scales at 111 lbs.; Sosa weighed in at 112.2 lbs., 0.2 lbs. over the flyweight limit. He has two hours to make weight, or else will be subject to fine and penalty.
