For the past few weeks, outspoken trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. had been telling me that he was soon to be making the move from Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Club to a new gym in the Vegas area in order to continue training his growing stable of fighters.

On Tuesday afternoon, Floyd Sr. was inside of  the aforementioned gym just west of the Vegas strip. The facility is at least part-owned by music mogul turned boxing promoter 50 Cent, who is looking to break into the sport with his SMS Promotions.

Around 1 pm, Mayweather could be found with talented amateur prospect Donte Strayhorn, the newest addition to his crew of fighters. As the hours went by, other familiar faces came to the building, including former featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa and super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell.

There were several trainers and fighters who visited the gym, not to get work, but more so just to swing by and shoot the breeze while getting a glimpse of the new spot.

The gym is still being worked on and has yet to officially have a name. Local boxing and MMA coach Gil Martinez had actually begun working on setting up the gym over the summer until 50 Cent approached him about somewhat of a joint venture.

The gym is right next door to the Top Rank Gym and is said to have a price tag of $1.1 million.
