Photos: Filip Hrgovic Struggles, Secures Final Round TKO of Demsey McKean

Hrgovic is the IBF's mandatory challenger to unified champion Oleksandr Usyk, who later this month in Poland will face the WBA's mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois.

McKean was boxing smart with his southpaw style in the first. Hrgovic was looking break the distance to connect more often with bigger punches. Hrgovic was connecting with the bigger punches in the second.

A lot of holding by McKean in the third, with Hrgovic landing most of the key head shots. McKean was more geared to target the body. McKean looked gassed, mostly holding and taking punches in the fourth. In the fifth, McKean started well and was landing to the head and body of Hrgovic. There was still a lot of holding by McKean.

During the sixth, both looked a bit tired as the round played out. McKean came out well, firing with punches at the start of the seventh. Hrgovic looked to be very tired, with McKean holding and leaning on him often. In the eight, Hrgovic still looked very tired at times, with both having their moments. McKean was landing more punches. In the ninth, Hrgovic seemed to buzz McKean with a solid right and the Aussie fighter was holding on for dear life to weather storm.

The tenth saw McKean come out pressing and punching. It was a scrappy round at times, with Hrgovic landing the harder punches. In the eleventh, McKean was pressing forward and seemed to bother Hrgovic with a hard body shot. Hrgovic was not doing much and allowing McKean to work.

In twelfth and final round, McKean was badly hurt by a right hand shot and was out on his feet. He never went down, but was barely able to stand and the fight was waved off.
