Navarrette was on his feet in the early rounds, using his reach and outboxing Santisima. Navarrete was starting to connect more often in the third. In the fourth, Santisima landed a very good hook that sent Navarrete back, but he controlled most oft he round otherwise.
Navarrete was really working him over in the fifth, with a high volume of punches flying in from all angles. Santisima appeared to be in trouble and physically spent. Navarrete took a round off in the sixth and went back to work in the seventh.
After two slow rounds, Navarrete unloaded with his punches in the tenth with an arsenal of hard punches being thrown and landed. The same attack went on in the eleventh round, as Navarrette was working him and really punishing him to the head and body. The referee had finally seen enough and stopped the fight.
