The main event fighters of the evening for "Knockout Kings" went face to face at the weekly meeting of President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, with media present.

The fight takes place on this Saturday at the legendary Arena Coliseo in Mexico City and will be broadcast to the entire country through the screens of Televisa Deportes.

The puncher Dante "Crazy" Jardon (28-5, 22KOs), who is the current International lightweight champion, and former world champion Juan Carlos Salgado (26-5-1, 16KOs) are ready for battle in a WBC eliminator. The event will be promoted by Promociones del Pueblo.

Dante realizes the danger involved in the fight. The two fighters are going in different directions at the moment. Jardon has won his last four fights in a row, with his last win coming last October with a twelve round decision over Reyes Sanchez. Salgado has lost his last four bouts in a row and has been inactive for over a year. His last bout came last January when he lost an upset ten round decision to Jairo Lopez.

"This fight took it very seriously because I know the danger of my opponent. He is a tough fighter that can punch and you have to give him a lot of respect," Jardon said.

"I like to fight in the Arena Coliseo, to hear the support of the people, to know that they cry for what I do in the ring, because that motivates me to give 200%. I think it will be a very good fight."

"I'm very focused on winning and facing Jorge Linares in a title fight. That's a fight that really catches my attention because he is considered among the best in the world, and it would be a great challenge for me as a professional to face and defeat him," Jardon concluded.

Salgado, for his part, said he was prepared for whatever comes.

"In my career I've always had long periods of time between fights but I'm training, I'm used to strong commitments and gladly face them. I always dreamed of the WBC title, but my career me led to another destination - but I keep in mind the green and gold belt. This is a great opportunity to get it," Salgado said.

"Dante is a very tough fighter. I come in from a downswing and I want to regain my winning ways, so I did a great job in the gym. We both have a respectable punch, the fans know us for that and people will remember this fight for a long time. This time I will also come out with the victory and want to fight in a rematch with Linares."
