The 12 round bout will air air live on Televisa (Channel 5) in Mexico and on CBS Sports Network in the United States, beginning at 10:30 p.m. CT.

Mijares (53-8-2, 26 KOs) has won his last four bouts in a row since his one-sided defeat to Leo Santa Cruz in March of 2014. The former junior bantamweight world titleholder knocked out Cristian Arrasola in the seventh round of his last bout on December 19.

In the co-main event, Jose Lopez will fight Ivan Alvarez in a 10 round welterweight bout.

Lopez (25-4-2, 15 KOs) fought to a technical draw after the first round of his last fight on March 26. Lopez was not able to continue because of a cut caused by an accidental head-butt.
