Photos: Claressa Shields Gets Revenge, Beats Savannah Marshall For Undisputed Crown

The scores were 96-94, 97-93 and 97-93 for Shields.

Shields avenges the only loss of her boxing career, as she suffered a decision loss to Marshall in 2012 when they were amateurs.  

Marshall came rushing out to apply pressure on Shields in the first round. Shields was moving and boxing well. She rallied with several hard punches on Marshall, who took the shots well and kept coming. The faster hands of Shields were hitting the mark often. Marshall was firing back, but not landing her punches flush.

Marshall was able to land well in the second, with Shields taking the power and firing back with the quicker shots. The volume of Shields was giving Marshall a lot of problems. Shields continued to outbox and outland Marshall in the third. During the fourth, the action was closer as Marshall would wait for Shields to stop and then unleash her combinations. 

In the fifth, Marshall was pressing Shields and digging to the body. Shields was unloading with combos to the head and body. During the sixth, Marshall was landing well on Shields with big punches. Shields connected with shots of her own, but certainly took more incoming shots during the round. In the seventh, Marshall was starting to do some damage to the head and body. The eight round saw an inside fight with both having their moments. Shields was connecting with the better punches.

In the ninth, they were trading away with punches. Shields was landing the cleaner blows to the head and body. Marshall rallied with heavy punches in the final minute as she kept getting Shields against the ropes. The tenth and final round, Marshall started by coming forward and throwing big punches. She had Shields backing up and holding.  They exchanged big punches to close out the fight.
