After Algieri controlled the pace in the first when came out being aggressive - which is something he doesn't usually do.

But that aggression came back to haunt him, because there was heavy drama in the second when Coyle rocked Algieri with a big counter. Algieri was backed up against the ropes with Coyle working him over with heavy shots to the head and body.

Algieri was forced to fight his way out of trouble and survive the drama. At the start of the third, Algieri came back out with his new aggressive nature - coming forward and looking for a fight.

In the fourth, Algieri dropped Coyle with heavy shots to the body. Coyle was in pain, but he managed to get back to his feet. He came back firing at Algieri, who was happy to trade punches with him on the inside.

Both had their moments in the fifth, with Algieri having the edge in landed punches. As they entered the seventh round, both of Algieri's eyes were swollen and bruised.

Algieri began to really punish Coyle as the rounds played out, which eventually forced the corner of Coyle to call the fight at the end of the eight round.
