Earlier tonight in Hermosillo, Mexico - Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. returned to the ring for the first time in 9 years, for a four round boxing exhibition at the Multipurpose Center (CUM). About 3,000 fans turned out to remember the skills that made Chavez, now 52-years-old, a legend in the ring.

The event was staged for charity to help the poor children of the region during the holidays. Chavez asked every fan who attended this event to bring a toy.

Chavez delighted the crowd by throwing his trademark left hook to the liver that on more than one occasion hit the mark on two separate opponents, who resented the punishment. He entered the ring with the song "beautiful and beloved Mexico", the same one he used for many of his big fights.

"I'm too old ... but I still have little (laughs). Thank you all for coming and supporting this with toys for underprivileged children. So I got in the ring after [nine] years without [boxing]. I got tired, the reflexes are lost, but I gladly took the risk for the benefit of children," Chavez said.
