Photos: Carlos Castro Stops a Game Oscar Escandon in Tenth

Escandon came out swinging and seemed to buzz Castro in the first round. Castro covered up and was looking for counters. Near the end of the round, Escandon rocked him again. In the second, Castro was boxing well and landing a stiff jab. They were having an inside back and forth exchanges in the third.

Escandon was forcing Castro to fight in the fourth, with more inside action. They continued trading punches during the fifth, on the inside. At the end of the sixth, Escandon was rocked by Castro's shots. During the seventh, Castro was credited with a knockdown, when he rocked Escandon, who fell flat on his face when attempting a counter shot. He beat the count, but Castro was battering him with punches. Escandon started to fire back as they were trading power punches. Escandon was able to survive.

The knockdown was reversed to a slip, after video evidence, before the start of the eight. Castro controlled most of the round. After having the edge in the ninth, Castro badly hurt Escandon in the tenth - dropping him with a barrage of punches for the stoppage win after Escandon got up and went back down to a knee.
