Carl Frampton (21-0, 14 early) and Scott Quigg (31-0-1, 23 KOs) both came in within the Super bantamweight limit for their IBF and WBA Super World title showdown in Manchester tomorrow night. The weigh-in took place at the Manchester Arena in front of two sets of baying fans as well as a pro-Quigg brass band.

Bury’s Quigg was first on the scales, he hit 8st 9lb 6oz (121.6-pounds) before turning to salute his fans. Belfast-based Frampton’s travelling support made themselves known, too, and cheered him on when he scaled 8st 9lb 7oz (121-.7-pounds).

Both fighters were loath to break a staredown that lasted over a minute. When they did turn to face the crowd both threw some bodybuilder shapes then Frampton threw up a V for victory sign behind Quigg’s head when his opponent posed for photos.

The fiery build-up continued today, Frampton has allegedly insisted that Sky reshuffle their commentary team to remove one particular individual, as they claim that the commentator in question has criticised them in the past.

However, the final face-to-face itself was without incident and now both men will do their talking in the ring in front of a typically large British fight crowd.
