The duel between Chávez (35-3-1, 23 KO's) and Alvarez (24-5-2, 16 KO's) takes place a week before their brothers are expected to battle in Las Vegas.

On May 6th at the T-Mobile Arena, Chavez's older brother, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., will battle Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who is the younger brother of Ramon.

For this reason, the fight between Omar and Ramón is of paramount importance. The winner will give a big boost to his brother in the lead-up to a great commitment. The loser, on the other hand, will put extra pressure on his sibling to restore some family honor.

A native of Guadalajara, Ramon Alvarez, has vowed to return strong by defeating Omar again - this time with greater clarity.

"The first fight was very good for the fans, the second will be better. My brother Saul motivates me with his fight against Junior and I do not see where I can lose to Omar. This is a matter of pride and I'm going to win," Alvarez said.
