Madison Square Garden, New York City - WBA super middleweight champion Callum Smith (26-0, 19 KOs) crushed Hassan N'Dam (37-4, 21 KOs) in three rounds. (photos by Ed Mulholland, Mark Robinson).

This was the first bout for Smith since last year's knockout of George Groves to capture the WBA world title and win the World Boxing Super Series.

The fight was being fought at a close pace - until the final twenty seconds when N'Dam got dropped by a hard hook and he was seriously hurt.  He was lucky there was no time left in round one.

When the second round began, N'Dam was dropped for a second time from another hook. He once again beat the count and was trying to fight his way out of trouble. Smith controlled the rest of the round.

In the third, Smith and N'Dam were trading - when Smith landed a huge shot that sent N'Dam down hard. He got up, on shaky legs, and the fight was stopped.
