It was a technical start in the first, but it didn't take long before they started trading punches in bunches during the second. The third began with Figueroa going right after Castro and forcing a high tempo clash as they were both trading away. Figueroa dropped Castro with a series of heavy blows against the ropes to the head and body. Castro barely made it up. Figueroa unloaded with punches on Castro against the ropes - but he managed to weather the storm.

In the fourth, Figueroa went right after Castro, who was trying to create distance with his jab. Figueroa managed to break the distance to force Castro to fight at close range. The fifth was competitive, as Castro was giving as good as he was getting. In the sixth, Figueroa trapped Castro against the ropes and battered him with punches to secure the stoppage.
