World contenders McJoe Arroyo and Hernan “Tyson” Marquez were face to face today at the final press conference for their International Boxing Federation (IBF) super flyweight (115 pounds) elimination bout to be held this Saturday, June 14, at the Arena Jorge Cuesy in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico, in a Promociones Zanfer presentation, in association with PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP).

Arroyo (14-0, 7 KOs) and Marquez (37-4, 26 KOs) will fight for the second place in the IBF ranking at 115 pounds. Arroyo is ranked #10 and Marquez is ranked #9 by the IBF in the super flyweight division. The world title is vacant right now.

“I’m happy and motivated. I want to thank Zanfer Promotions and PRBBP for this great opportunity and I want to say that I’m well prepared to give maximum up there like I always do and I hope you enjoy it”, Arroyo said.

Arroyo, who is also ranked #12 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) at 115 pounds, defeated David Quijano by unanimous decision last April 28. The 28 year old fighter is a 2008 Olympian boxer for Puerto Rico. He also won a bronze medal at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in Colombia and at the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago. Marquez, meanwhile, is a former World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight champion, who is the ranked #11 by the WBO in the flyweight division. Marquez came off a win over Filipino John Mark Apolinario last April 26.

“I’m coming ready and focused. I want to be world champion in two divisions in my 25 years and this is a great opportunity. I know, I’m going to face a great fighter, very good amateur career and it will be a good fight and I think the winner here will be the fans”, Marquez said. “I come to die in the line, to leave everything in the ring as I have always done and win by any means. To give 100% and ready for a war and I hope he comes ready for a war, because I haven’t seen him no war in his 14 fights and I have had several wars”.

The main event will feature five-time former world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce (63-7-2, 48 KOs) will face Jorge “Baby Face” Lacierva (41-9-6, 27 KOs) at featherweight in a 10 rounds fight, and in the other co-main bout for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) interim bantamweight belt will face Mexicans Alejandro “Payasito” Hernandez (27-10-2, 15 KOs) and Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas (17 -1-1, 11 KOs).
