Anthony Crolla and Ismael Barroso tipped the scales ahead of their battle for world honours this weekend.

The show, which is topped by the ‘Danger Zone’ showdown between Crolla and Barroso for the former’s WBA lightweight title, takes place on Saturday at Manchester Arena, live on Sky Sports, and features two further title showdowns.

New Moston man Crolla (30-4-3, 12 KOs) comes up against dangerous mandatory challenger Barroso (19-0-2, 18 KOs), from Venezuela, for the title in what will be his acid test and first defence of the belt he won with a five-round stoppage of Darleys Pérez, the former champion, last November.

Barroso (9st 8lbs 3oz), 33, was named as the mandatory challenger to Crolla after his five-round destruction of a faded Kevin Mitchell in London back in December.

And now 29-year-old Crolla, who tipped the scales two ounces heavier than the visitors, will look to continue his reign as a world ruler and, in doing so, overcome the challenge of beating a man described as the biggest, most feared puncher in the division.

Meanwhile, Shayne Singleton and Adil Anwar were inside the limit ahead of their showdown for the vacant WBC International Silver welterweight title.

Singleton, from Colne, weighed in at 10st 6lbs 4oz, while Leeds man Anwar came in at 10st 4lbs 8oz.

Meanwhile, in the other title fight on the bill between Marcus Morrison and Jefferson Luiz De Souza, both fighters made weight.

A slew of undercard fighters also weighed in at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel ahead of tomorrow’s action, with the pick of them being Paul Smith, who returns after 11 months out, former four-time world title challenger Martin Murray and Hull lightweight Tommy Coyle.
