Former WBO light-welterweight title challenger Lamont Peterson (28-1-1) will fight Victor Manuel Cayo (26-1) in an IBF 140-pound title eliminator on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs. Zab Judah two-belt unification bout, which takes place on July 23 in Las Vegas. The victor of Peterson-Cayo will be in line to square-off against the main event's winner.

Peterson, 27, was in line to challenge Khan for his WBA title in Manchester, England last April, but turned down the Briton's contract offer. The Memphis-based fighter then signed on to meet 26 year-old Cayo on April 29th, only for the Dominican to pull out with just two weeks to go.

Both fighters have just one defeat, Peterson dropping a twelve round decision to Timothy Bradley and Cayo getting stopped Marcos Maidana. The pair still need to prove they deserve to be recognized among the best at the weight.

Also being mentioned for the Khan-Judah undercard is welterweight contender Joel "Love Child" Julio (37-4, 31KOs).
