Shortly after Danny Garcia’s majority decision win over Lamont Peterson earlier this month, a brief video surfaced online that purported to show Garcia telling Peterson that Peterson had won the fight. The audio was hard to discern, though Lamont’s brother, Anthony, claimed Garcia had said just that.

Lamont, however, has no recollection of that happening.

“If he said it, I didn’t hear it,” Lamont Peterson told BoxingScene.com on April 19. “I don’t recall him saying that.”

Peterson still feels he deserved to win the fight, though.

The judges disagreed, with two scoring it 115-113 for Garcia and the third having it a 114-114 draw. That dropped Peterson to 33-3-1 with 17 KOs. The other losses came to Tim Bradley by unanimous decision in 2009 and Lucas Matthysse by third-round technical knockout in 2013.
