Centro De Convenciones, Rosarito, Baja California - Hot junior welterweight prospect Pedro Campa (22-0, 17KOs) stopped a very game David Bency (10-6-1, 4KOs) in seven rounds.

Campa's power was on display in the first round. His power shots were pushing Bency back and had him stumbling around. In the second, Campa seemed to take his foot off the gas, which allowed Bency to start landing shots of his own. Near the end of the same round, Campa was landing some very heavy shots to the head and body, and Bency was able to take them.

Campa continued to land some good shots as the fight played out. Bency was getting stung, but not going anywhere and would try to fire back with some punches of his own. Bency's lack of punching power allowed Campa to walk through everything.

At the start of the fifth, there was evident swelling above the left eye of Campa. Bency was really game, standing and trading with Campa on the inside for most of the round - with a cut opening up above Bency's left eye from the exchanges.

They were going to war and trading big punches in the sixth. Bency showed his chin and walked through some telling blows. The end finally came in the seventh round, when Campa rocked Bency with a series of punches. Bency stumbled to the ropes, turning his back to Campa - and the referee jumped in to wave off the contest.
