Unbeaten junior welterweight Pedro Campa returned to action at the Gimnasio Municipal in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.

Campa (26-0, with 19 KOs), who resides in nearby Hermosillo, knocked out former world title challenger Marvin Quintero in round four of his last bout on February 18.

The 25-year-old Campa has stopped three of his last four opponents, and nearly pulled off another knockout win but he was forced to go the distance against a tough Juan A. Rodríguez (29-7, with 25 KOs), who was able to grind out a six round split decision victory over Raul Hinojosa on March 5 of last year.

Campa, who struggled in some moments of the bout, but was able to impose his strength against Rodriguez and almost knocked out the veteran in the last round, but the bell came to save him.

After ten rounds of action, Campa won by way of a unanimous decision. The scores were 98-92, 100-90, 100-90.

Prior to the Hinojosa bout, Rodriguez fell short in his attempt to win the interim WBA world junior lightweight title from Jezreel Corrales, losing by knockout.

Rodriguez's most notable bouts were decision losses to Javier Fortuna (May of 2014) and Billy Dib (July of 2012).

Junior bantamweight contender and former world champion Arely Mucino (24-3-2, with 10 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision against 19-year-old Jessica Guadalupe Martinez (4-8, with 1 KO).

The fight one sided from the start of the match, with Muciño attacking throughout the contest with very few responses from Martinez, who endured heavy blows from the former world champion.

Junior welterweight Rafael Guzman (20-1-1, with 12KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over unbeaten Samuel Garibaldi (12-1-1, with 6KOs). The two fighters often exchanged big shots as the crowd cheered them on. The judges' scores were 77-74, 79-72 and 76-75 for Guzman.
