It was recently announced that 7 division world champion Amanda Serrano signed with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Player Promotions.

The 32-year-old Puerto Rican fought on Paul’s undercard in August when she outpointed Yamileth Mercado.

There are negotiations underway to secure a showdown against Katie Taylor which would be one of the biggest fights in the sport.

Paul’s trainer, former world title challenger BJ Flores, believes that Serrano will become a crossover star now that she has the proper backing.

“Amanda Serrano is a star.  She has an incredible upside and her fight against Katie Taylor is 100% the biggest fight in woman’s boxing. Jake recognizes talent and is an expert at building others up and creating massive opportunities,” Flores told BoxingScene.com.

“Amanda is a beautiful, proud Latina woman that is very marketable. She punches with power and always gives her fans an action packed night of entertainment. She is exactly what major business’s look for in sponsorship opportunities and Jake will get her every possible opportunity to generate revenue as a a hard working inspirational Latina woman first and professional boxer second.

“Amanda conducts herself in a very professional manner and stays in her lane while focusing on improving her own skillset in preparation for her next match. She is always positive and focused with her eye on the prize. Amanda is exactly the type of athlete MVP promotions will focus on in the future.”

Undisputed super welterweight champion and two-time gold medalist Clarissa Shields recently made comments that she would never fight on a Jake Paul undercard and said that she would rather fight him and knows that she would beat him.

Flores’s only responses is that they are focused on improving their own team and not worried about anyone else.

“We wish her the best. We are focused on December, working hard every day on improving our skillset. We don't have the time to engage or respond to any negativity or jealousy. We wish them the best   We feel Amanda is the most exciting, well-spoken fighter in women’s boxing. There are many opportunities for her in the future,” said Flores.
