Looks like middleweight Paul Mendez will face Louis Rose on October 28th, it was advised to Boxingscene.com on Friday.

The bout will be the opening televised bout of the “Golden Boy Live” card that will take place at the Sports House in Redwood City, CA. The card, which will be televised on Fox Sports 1, will be co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Don Chargin.

The main event will pit unbeaten Manuel Avila against Jose Silveira in a scheduled 10 round super bantamweight bout.

Mendez (14-2-1, 6 KOs) is unbeaten in his last nine bouts and is coming off a technical knockout victory after the sixth round over Rahman Yusubov on September 28th.

Rose (8-1, 2 KOs) hails from Lynwood, CA and has won his last three bouts in a row since suffering his only defeat at the hands of Tony Hirsch on December 21st.

In his last bout on July 24th, Rose won a one-sided six round unanimous decision over Akil Auguste in New York City. Prior to that bout on May 15th, Rose won a hard-fought eight round unanimous decision over Delen Parsley, who entered the bout unbeaten at 10-0.

Rose does have three victories over unbeaten fighters out of his eight wins as a pro.
