Paul Butler will be back in the ring before Christmas.

The former IBF bantamweight champion has fought three times already this year.

Butler will now be hoping to make it a quartet of wins for 2019 when he returns in Knowsley next month.

‘The Baby-Faced Assassin’, who was last in action on September 22 at the Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre in Wythenshawe, will once again fight in the North West for his next assignment.

The fight will take place at the Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park in Huyton, Merseyside, as part of a card promoted by Steve Wood and VIP Boxing in association with Trinity Entertainment Boxing.

“I’m just looking forward to getting out in December and looking forward to next year,” said Butler.

Mason Cartwright will return from his maiden pro defeat, which he suffered back in October, on the card and he will be joined by his fellow No Limits-trained fighter Matty Fagan, who was out last on the same card as Cartwright, as well as the current Central Area lightweight champion Steve Brogan.

Brogan will face Abdon Cesar, the man who beat him back in October at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool, in a rematch, while Sean Cairns and Brian Phillips are on alongside John Dring and Colin Day.

Jack Jones is set to make his debut on the bill and Joe Kavanagh completes the card.

“We’ve got a couple of good options for titles the start of next year,” he added, “so I’m excited for that!

“This year has been a frustrating one, it’s been just waiting and waiting for something to happen and now, finally, we have something there.”

The show will also showcase music act Ceemax and fire-breathing outfit Girls Of Safire.
