Numerous critics have come following Anthony Joshua's most recent win, as he retained his IBF, IBO and WBA world heavyweight titles when he stopped bloodied challenger Carlos Takam in the 10th round in Cardiff on Saturday.

Unbeaten champion Joshua opened up a dreadful cut above 36-year Takam's right eye in the fourth round and although the durable France-based Cameroonian battled on the fight was halted after a series of heavy blows - but many felt the stoppage was way too quick as Takam did not appear to be in serious trouble.

It was far from a straightforward night for Joshua in the Principality Stadium, however, as the 28-year-old appeared to suffer a badly bruised nose in the second round after an accidental clash of heads with his shorter and lighter opponent.

Kevin Barry, trainer for WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, agreed with the critical comments that were made by his boxer.

Parker (24-0, 18 KOs), won a tough twelve round unanimous decision over Takam in May of 2016, was not impressed by Joshua's win.

Barry believes Joshua has stamina issues and also possesses a suspect chin. He felt the stoppage of Takam was way too early.

"I know for a fact he's been down in sparring [at] a number of training camps," Barry said to News Hub. "We like the fact that his chin is very suspect compared to Joseph Parker's chin. Joshua has come out and said different guys have dropped him in sparring with 18 ounce gloves on."

"Stoppage [of Takam] was very, very promoter friendly. His stamina is still lacking. I think he looked very, very gassed towards the end of that fight. There wasn't great speed in his punches. In fact I thought he looked very robotic and I thought he looked very slow, and everything I saw made me really excited for when we do eventually get into the ring with this guy."
