Francisco Palacios has reacted angrily to a statement made by WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk’s promoter as the two fighters attempt to finalize a rematch on September 22nd in Poland.

The 35 year-old has told WBN on numerous occasions that his side of the contract is signed and all that the fight needs is the title holder’s signature, although Andrzej Wasilewski denied that the fight was even close in a recent interview with BoxingScene.com.

‘The Wizard’ is still adamant that the fight is secured for the date in question and wants clarification from Wlodarczyk that he will honour the WBC’s mandatory wishes and announce the rubberstamped return.

“I agreed on this fight and my contract has been signed for two months,” Palacios told World Boxing News. “I don’t know about Wlodarczyk’s side, but I signed my contract two months ago at the end of April.

“They must honour the rematch because the WBC have ordered it and my signed part of the deal is done and in my promoter’s hands.

“I am pretty sure that they will go through with the fight but as of now, it’s out of my hands.

“I have seen on certain websites that the fight is done for September 22nd in Wroclaw and now they are making me look like a liar when it was all over web pages in the UK and Poland.

“I want to say is that I don’t lie,” said Palacios. ”I put up on my own page that the fight was sealed. Why would I do this if it wasn’t?

“Now what I read and see about my rematch is not in my hands. I want Wlodarczyk’s team to stop saying I’m lying about anything and announce the fight.”
